Calving Season at Blue Range Ranch

George Whitten and Julie Sullivan manage Blue Range Ranch, located in the mountain rimmed San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado.  On the family-owned, certified-organic ranch, their cattle spend their entire lives as they were meant to, moving as a herd over the land.  Personally and professionally, they work to dissolve the prejudices between ranchers and environmentalists, urban and rural people, and to build bridges between them. Julie Sullivan, professor of environmental studies turned cowgirl, gives us a glimpse into a day in the life of a cattle rancher during calving season.
