More Good Food to Come in 2014

As we welcome the new year, we want to reflect on the past year before looking forward and sharing some new, innovative ways we’ll be bringing you and your family more Good Food in 2014.

In 2013, we planted the seeds for growth, including expanding our delivery to the East Coast — Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware — offering more delivery day options, and partnering with more local, artisan producers to add hundreds of new foods to our just-revamped Shop. When we weren’t connecting you to all that Good Food, we were connecting with you at our community events or virtually on social media. Take a look at the fun we had bringing you the freshest, most delicious organic produce and natural groceries we could find. Then learn about some of the cool, new features we’ll be rolling out soon to make eating healthier even easier.

We got the chance to connect with you at events like the Thanks & Giving Brunch in Boulder, the Good Food BBQ in Philadelphia, the Taste of Local in Kansas City, the Good Food Gathering in Michigan, and the Good Food Fest in Chicago. We have more fun planned for 2014, so stay tuned…

We also loved hearing from you on Facebook this year—all 100,000 of you across all our sites!—and Instagram. Thanks for sharing both what you love about us and any feedback to help us improve. And we’re glad your cat loves us, too.

We also connected with you by phone when something wasn’t up to our high standards. Our fabulous customer service team of Lucas–that’s him grinning above–Chris, Mary, Alisha, and Matt put in more than 10,000 hours this year to make sure you were happy with your order every time. Reach out anytime.

We also connected you with our local farmers through our blog and video visits to local farms, like Jason Condon who runs Isabelle Farm in Lafayette, Colorado.

Even better: We brought the bounty from local farms to your door. We partnered with 121 farms to deliver more than 600,000 pounds of local fruits and veggies to you in the 2013 Local Farm Box, since local food is better for the environment, local economy, and your health.

We also brought you even more Good Food by partnering with local artisan producers and expanding our grocery offerings at the new, improved Shop with hundreds of new items this year. What were your favorite additions?

Our commitment to bringing more people more Good Food extends to our entire community, including families who may not be able to afford to buy the healthiest foods. With your help, we were able to donate more than 18,000 pounds of fresh, organic produce to local food banks throughout our communities this holiday season.

We also want to thank you for choosing food that supports the environment. Did you know that by skipping a trip to the store, you reduce CO2 emissions? The amount of emissions we kept out of the air this year is equal to planting 1,080 trees or taking 23 cars off the road for a year. The Earth thanks you, too.

And coming in 2014 … a more mobile-friendly Shop, more free Good Food gatherings, more local artisan foods, at-a-glance product ingredient info, bigger and better sweepstakes, delivery expansion to new areas, and even more flexibility with your box so you can get what you want when you want it. How ’bout them organic apples?
