That way, you can get your hands on a box before they all sell out!
What’s a Local Farm Box?
A Local Farm Box is filled with 100% Colorado-grown organic produce and available from late June through early October. Early in the season, it will be heavy on the veggies until fruit arrives late in the summer. You’ll see incredibly fresh tomatoes and summer squash from Full Circle Farms in Longmont, peaches and stone fruit from Roger’s Mesa Fruit Orchards in Hotchkiss, cherries and apples from Ela Family Farms on the Western Slope, and so much more! But if you have a hankering for a banana at any time, not to worry — you can always sub those in or add them to your order! The Local Farm box is available in two sizes: Bitty and Small.
How’s that different from a CSA?
You can enjoy the freshness of local produce as well as the flexibility of being a Door to Door Organics customer. Unlike a CSA, or community-supported agriculture farm share, a Local Farm Box offers flexibility so you can:
- Substitute up to five items with every order. Don’t like chard? Sub it out.
- Going out of town? Schedule a vacation. You can even switch back to a regular box at any time.
- Skip or makes changes to your delivery up until 8 a.m. the day before.
- Add other items to your order, like locally sourced meat, farm-fresh dairy foods, and more!
As always, there’s no commitment, and you’ll pay per order. You’ll also feel great about supporting a wide variety of local farms while enjoying their bounty all summer long. So sign up now to be the first to know when the Local Farm Box becomes available.
